Archive for October, 2010

I was looking forward to this shoot for a long time.  Not only did I get to spend a bit of time with an old friend but I got to spend some time with her beautiful daughter as well.  The last time I saw baby Dom was when she was….well, a baby!

La-Toya is truly one of the most gorgeous women I know.  Flawless skin, perfect smile and she just oozes a welcoming personality.  She’s funny and courageous and a fabulous mom.  Her daughter now possesses all of those things.  Which just shows what a good job La-Toya has done raising her.

La-Toya had asked if I could do some photos of her and Dom so she could capture the special bond they have.  I was a wee bit nervous as this is not something I know much about.  I know about baby and momma bonds, I know about the incredible relationship that mom’s have with their sons but I have no idea, from a mom’s point of view, what the relationship should look like, with a teenaged girl, from a photography point of view.  Well, I didn’t need to worry.  These two are such hams and so natural in front of the camera that it was easy.

I had a lot of fun with you guys 🙂  Thanks again and we’ll see Dom again when she’s got her braces off!!

Snuggling a fresh, adorable baby like this one just reminds me why I love photographing newborns!  So sleepy and hungry and trying to figure this huge world out.  And mom and dad trying to figure out when she’s sleepy and hungry and learning every minute of the day 🙂

Kinda makes me wonder what it would be like to have a little girl in this house full of boys 😉

You could not have wished for a more perfect Fall day.  Warm and sunny during the day and rainy at night.  Getting married outside in the Fall is tricky.  You never quite know what you’ll get.  Rain, wind, even snow!  Everything turned out the way we had hoped though 🙂

The silver dollar on the bottom of the bride’s shoe was worn by her Mom when she got married, date stamped 1968.

Looking out the window for her groom below 🙂

Thanks for putting up with me Craig 😉

LOVE this quote.  And, having two boys myself, I can verify that this statement is true 🙂

Boy, n: one of the most lovable creatures on Earth.  😉

Stunning blue eyes, all three of these cuties.  So close in age, these sisters all share the same eyes but have completely different personalities.  The oldest is a typical first child….loves to be the mom!  The middle one, is definitely a middle child.  mischievous, adventurous.  The youngest is the baby.  Cuddle monster, momma and daddy’s girl, sticking close  by.  I love being able to photograph these girls for my girly fix and to see how much they change each year 🙂

See mom, the hiking was worth it 😉

It turned out to be a perfect Fall day.  Sunny, crisp and full of laughs and love.  I met Amber and Blair the day before the wedding for the first time.  Amber is an amazing woman and I can’t even begin to list all of her stunning accomplishments, so I will say, she will make an outstanding physician very soon.  Blair.  Hmmmmmm.  Truthful would be the one word I would use to describe him.  Oh, and he LOVES getting his picture taken…..or was it that he DESPISES his picture taken???  He thought he’d be a challenge for me.  But I stepped up and he ended up loving me in the end 😉  Bonding over beers does that for a relationship.

The following, is an uncanny impression of Sir Sean Connery.

All the best to Amber and Blair.  You seem to be a perfect fit 🙂  Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day.

Midwife : a healthcare profession in which the providers offer care to childbearing women during their pregnancy, labour and birth and during the postpartum period.

But obviously so much more than that.  This incredible woman delivered and cared for all four of these kiddos.  Apparently it is quite rare for a midwife to have been able to deliver a crazy amount of children like the F family has 😉

Have a great day!

Well, it was because of this sweet little two year old girl that I met the F family. I did her newborn photos and the rest is history.    This year was the best as far as photos with C.  She had just come home from dance class and mom wasn’t sure how she would be.  I brought out the tutu and she lit up and but then quickly wanted it OFF!  Jeez, you would think a two year old would have a little more patience 😉

Sooooo, the pumpkins that just happens to be a on a wagon across the street worked out well 🙂  We had a lot of fun too!

I’m back to the F house tomorrow….photos of all the kids are their mid wife.  Very cool.

These two kiddos were such hams!  And so much fun 🙂  I love when kids are comfortable right off the bat and have no problems being them and having their photo taken.

And I’m the one who got stung by a bee 😦  I have made it 32 years without getting stung.  So I thank the M family for the ice and the concern and then making it all better with a snuggle from the bunny!

I hope everyone had a terrific Thanksgiving!  I am thankful for so many things this year and I am eternally grateful for being able to do what I love for a living and for being able to make families smile and forever treasure a particular stage in their lives.
