Sometimes when I bring props and such to people’s houses I think they look at me like “you seriously want to put my baby in that?”  Well, as I walked into this house I saw a giant spoon hanging on the wall by the kitchen.  Of course the first thing I thought was “hmmmm, I wonder if the baby will fit in that?!”  I thought I should wait a bit to ask as I had never met this couple before and I didn’t want to alarm them 😉  I think I was there for about 4 minutes before Dad asked me “Do you think we could put her in the spoon?”  Needless to say, I got along wonderfully with this couple!!

As much as I wanted to steal the spoon, I did not 🙂

Happy number 3 N!  I remember when you were 6 months old, crawling like a mad man and flashin’ that killer smile 🙂

I photograph this family many many many times a year 😉  So I get to see the kids fairly frequently and it’s not such a shock when I see them and see how much they have grown.  But I have to tell you, looking at the images to put on the blog, I was getting kind of sentimental.  Big brother S has seemed to have lost all his baby face in a matter of months!  He’s like a wee man now!  And sis S, she has the same squishy smile as her big bro.  It’s adorable to watch this family, with 4 kids, change.

Good thinking mom, taking off your “manicure” given to you by one of the boys 🙂

Yes, I realize the titles are not as snazzy as usual but I’m running out of writing steam 😉

Baby J is 2 months old now!  Doing newborn shoots at this age is sometimes hard but it’s also very rewarding when you get killer smiles like little man was dishing out!

Big bro J is one of the most precious 2 year old boys I have ever met.  I can see years of happy playing and goofing around for the two of these guys 🙂

I don’t usually post babies names but I really wanted to share his first and middle name.  Micah Washington.  I think it says so much about him already and about his parents.  It’s a strong name but soft at the same time.  Just like his mom and dad.  Dad is strong in body, mom is strong in mind and both are strong in spirit.  Dad is soft spoken and soft with his ways.  Mom is soft hearted and full of love for her loved ones.  I have always liked the name Micah and I didn’t realize mom had always liked it too!  We went to high school with a guy with that name and it has stuck in my brain.  I’m glad she named her first son that because I will never be able to use it as I won’t be having any more boys 😉

I love the curves of the body, especially in newborns.  They are the closest thing to perfection on a human.  The curve of their legs and bum tucked into the fetal position just gets to me.  It tugs at my heart thinking that they only stay this little and curvy for such a short amount of time.  After I position them naturally into the pose I usually take a moment to stop and take it in.  Take in this incredible time in their life and their parents’ lives.  Sleeping peacefully and comfortably, undisturbed by his surroundings.  Yeah, I have a pretty horrible job 😉

Jacob and Naghmeh ended up having a perfect day.  Perfect weather, perfect settings…everything!   Through a lot of long distance planning and finishing school these crazy kids made it all work out and it was fantastic 🙂

It was amazing to see the two families become one.  Everyone was so welcoming and warm and you could feel how much love was in the room.  Thanks Naghmeh and Jacob for trusting me to document this day for the two of you.
